Hi, I’m Ann-Marie,

Pointe Shoe Specialist at Upstage Dancewear.

I have studied and been involved with dance all my life.

During my Associate Diploma training, a focus was on the requirements of different strength facilities for pointe shoes. The importance of a supportive vamp and comfort around the metatarsals for rolling through demi-pointe.

Since joining Upstage, I've been able to explore a range of Pointe Shoe Brands and accessories, as well as extensive training on the importance of proper fit -and that means both the fit itself and making sure you have the correct accessories for your shoe strength, shoe style. Each of these factors contribute to your comfort and performance.

I hold an Associate Diploma in Cecchetti Classical Ballet—Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment; TAAD Tap Diploma; AOTD Jazz Diploma; and a Diploma of Dance Teaching and Management. I've also performed professionally in major musicals around the world as well as progressed from Teacher to Examiner/Adjudicator to Director of all styles of dance.

I understand how important your pointe shoes are to you, which is why I put so much care into my work. I know how hard it can be to find the right fit: it's not just about your size and shape, but also about how long you've been dancing and what kind of dancer you are. And if you're new to pointe.

We'll start by talking about what kind of dancer you are —Whether you're a beginner or advanced dancer, What level of performance do you aspire to? What type of music do you dance to? Only then will we get down to business and begin trying on shoes so that we can find the perfect pair for YOU.
